How to replace your PIXI power adapter

How to replace a PIXI power adapter or plug: the adapter specifications, which plug type to choose for your region, and tips for choosing a compatible replacement.

PIXI uses a standard 5V power adapter. If you need a replacement, any adapter that matches the specs below will work.

If your PIXI is under warranty

PIXI devices usually come with a 1 year warranty, unless a longer warranty was purchased. If your device is within its warranty period, contact Support and we'll help you arrange a replacement plug.

If your PIXI is out of warranty

If your device is older and the original power adapter or plug is damaged or no longer works, we recommend buying a replacement from a reputable online store or an electronics store. Make sure it matches the specifications below.

PIXI power adapter specifications

  • Input voltage: AC 100 to 240V, 50/60Hz, 0.4A max

  • Output voltage: DC 5V

  • Output current: 2A (10W)

  • Connector: 5.5mm (outer) × 2.1mm (inner) barrel plug

  • Certifications: CE and RoHS compliant

Choosing the right plug for your region

Because the adapter accepts 100 to 240V, it works with standard power outlets worldwide. You only need to choose the right plug for your region.

Plug type

Australia and New Zealand

Type I (2 flat pins in a V shape)

United States

Type A (2 flat parallel pins)

United Kingdom

Type G (3 rectangular pins)

Europe

Type C (2 round pins)

Tips for choosing a replacement adapter

  • Check that the output is exactly 5V. A higher voltage can damage your PIXI.

  • An output current of 2A or higher is fine. PIXI only draws the power it needs.

  • If you need a longer reach, use a standard extension cord rather than a long adapter cable. Long low voltage cables can lose power, which may cause your PIXI to restart.
