Shows today's date, day of the week, and its position in the month, kept accurate automatically.
Configurable Week Start
Choose whether your calendar week starts on Sunday or Monday.
Multi-Language Support
Display in English, Spanish, Spanish (Latin America), German, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Portuguese (Brazilian), Polish, Serbian, or Chinese (Simplified).
Setting Up the Date App
Date is a Layout app and cannot be added to a Collection.
Adding via a Layout
Open Layouts from the left-hand menu.
Click the Layout Apps tab at the top of the page.
Scroll to Explore Apps for Layouts and find the Date app (red calendar icon).
Click the Date tile, or the plus sign on it, to open its preview window.
With the preview window open, click +Create in the top-right corner.
Configuring the app
App Settings
Setting | Description |
Name | The name of your Date app instance, for example "Current Date." |
Start Date | Sunday or Monday, depending on how your audience reads a calendar week. |
Language | English, Spanish (Español), Spanish (Latin America), German (Deutsch), French (Français), Dutch (Nederlands), Portuguese (Português), Portuguese (Brazilian) (Português (Brasil)), Polish (Polski), Serbian (Srpski), or Chinese (Simplified) (中文（简体）). |
Click Save New App. A confirmation message displays: "App instance created successfully." Click Got it to close it.
Showing the Date App on a Screen
Date is a Layout app, so it reaches a screen through the Layout it's added to.
Go to Screens and select the screen you want to update.
Open the screen's settings panel.
Adjust its Layout setting to the Layout containing your Date app.

FAQ
Why is the Date app showing the wrong date?
The app uses the date and time of the device it's displaying on, such as the TV or player itself. As long as that device's date and time are set correctly, the Date app will show the correct date.
Does the Date app work offline?
Yes. Since it reads the date from the device rather than pulling data over the internet, it keeps showing the correct date even without a connection.
Can I use the Date app in portrait or landscape format?
Yes, the Date app works in both portrait and landscape.
