The ScreenCloud Google Slides app lets you display a Google Slides presentation directly on your screens. Once connected, any changes made to the presentation are automatically reflected on screen, so there's no need to re-upload or manually update the app.

Setting Up the Google Slides App
The Google Slides app can be added to a Collection.
Adding via a Collection
Go to Collections.
Select the Collection you want to add the app to, or create a new one.
Click the Apps tab, then Add app.
Select Google Slides from the list of apps, then click Create.

Name | The name of your Google Slides app instance. |
Google Authentication | Connect the Google account that has edit access to the presentation. Required to authorise ScreenCloud to display and auto-update it. |
Presentation URL | The address in your browser when you open the presentation in Google Slides, not the link from Google's "Publish to Web" or embed options. Keeping this as the browser URL keeps your presentation secure. |
Transition Type | The transition effect used between slides: Fade, Slide From Left, Slide From Right, Dissolve, or Flip. Defaults to Fade. |
You must have edit access to the presentation for ScreenCloud to automatically reflect changes you make to it.
Click Save New App once you've configured your settings.
Showing the Google Slides App on a Screen
The Google Slides app is added within a Collection, so it reaches a screen when that Collection is assigned to one.
Open your Collection and select the Screens tab.
Click Connect a screen to see your available paired screens.
Select the screen you want. The Collection, including your Google Slides app, will begin playing there.

FAQ
Why won't my presentation show?
This is usually a permissions issue. Make sure you're logged into the Google account that has edit access to the presentation. If you don't have access to that account, ask the owner to share the presentation with you, or change its sharing settings to allow view access, then reconnect the app.
Do slides set to "Skip" or "Hidden" affect playback?
Yes. Slides marked as skipped or hidden can affect how the presentation plays. If you're having issues, remove skipped or hidden slides from the presentation entirely, which should resolve most playback problems.
I'm not able to see slide transitions or effects. How can I fix this?
The Google Slides app doesn't support transitions, special effects, or additional configurations from the original Google Slides file, only the Transition Type set in the app's own settings will apply. As a workaround, export your presentation from Google Drive as a video (MP4) and upload it to ScreenCloud instead. This runs the presentation as a video and retains the original transitions and effects.
Will video play from my presentation?
No. Embedded videos within a Google Slides presentation will not autoplay. If you want to include working video, export it separately and upload it as an MP4, or use a dedicated video app such as YouTube or Vimeo.
How often does the Google Slides app refresh?
The app checks for updates once all of its slides have played through. If your presentation only has one slide, it updates every five minutes instead.
My slides aren't filling the whole screen. What can I do?
Set your presentation to a widescreen 16:9 ratio in Google Slides, since most screens use this ratio. In Google Slides, go to File > Page setup and select Widescreen 16:9.
