Issue 1: 1-minute playback cutoff
The YouTube app currently only plays for 1 minute before cutting off or refreshing. This includes:
Regular YouTube videos in a Collection
YouTube Live streams playing alone in a Collection (also refreshes every 1 minute instead of continuing indefinitely)
The automatic duration setting is skipping full video playback instead of letting a video play to completion.
Issue 2: Toggle subtitles doesn't work
The Toggle subtitles setting has no effect. Subtitles appear stuck on even when the toggle is switched off.

Setting Up the YouTube App
The YouTube app can be added to a Collection.
Adding via a Collection
Go to Collections.
Select the Collection you want to add the app to, or create a new one.
Click the Apps tab, then Add app.
Select YouTube from the list of apps, then click Create.

YouTube URL | The URL of the YouTube video, livestream, or playlist. Accepted formats include www.youtube.com, m.youtube.com, and youtu.be. |

Toggle subtitles | If enabled, displays subtitles or captions on the video, if available. |
Max videos to play in YouTube playlist | If the URL is a playlist, sets the maximum number of videos from that playlist that will play. Defaults to 10. |
Getting Your YouTube URL
Open the video on YouTube.
Copy the URL, either using the Share button, or directly from your browser's address bar.
Paste it into the YouTube URL field.
The video must be public. The app cannot display videos that are unlisted, private, paid content, or copyright-restricted.
The app also supports YouTube Live streams. However, the youtube.com/live/[video-id] URL format doesn't work directly and will show an "Issue playing the video" error. Instead, take the video ID from the live URL and convert it into the standard watch URL format: youtube.com/live/[video-id] becomes youtube.com/watch?v=[video-id]. Paste the converted URL into the YouTube URL field the same way as a regular video.
Click Save New App once you've configured your settings.
Showing the YouTube App on a Screen
The YouTube app is added within a Collection, so it reaches a screen when that Collection is assigned to one.
Open your Collection and select the Screens tab.
Click Connect a screen to see your available paired screens.
Select the screen you want. The Collection, including your YouTube app, will begin playing there.

FAQ
I can't find the correct video. What should I do?
Test that you have the correct URL or playlist URL in your browser before entering it into the app. If the channel owner changes the playlist or URL, you'll need to update it in ScreenCloud too.
How do I show subtitles on a video?
Enable the Toggle subtitles setting in the app. If subtitles don't display, it's because the video only has auto-generated captions rather than standard ones; the video's uploader would need to add proper captions for them to show, due to limits on what YouTube allows third parties to access.
Will the app cache videos?
No. YouTube videos are streamed rather than cached.
How are the videos ordered?
If using a playlist, videos are ordered the same way they appear on YouTube.
Why won't my YouTube video play?
The video may not be available to display outside of YouTube; check the video's settings on YouTube. If it plays in the app preview but not on the physical screen, the screen's network may be blocking it.
My YouTube Live video isn't playing. How can I fix this?
Make sure you've converted the URL from the youtube.com/live/[video-id] format to youtube.com/watch?v=[video-id]; the live format alone will show an "Issue playing the video" error. Also check that the stream is still live and hasn't been restricted from third-party sites.
Can I skip or remove a video from the playlist?
This isn't currently supported.
Why is my video stuck on loading in the app preview?
Embedding may be disabled for this video. You'll need to update the video's settings on YouTube to allow it to be viewed outside of YouTube.
Can I show YouTube Shorts with the app?
Yes, but only if the Shorts are contained in a playlist. Standalone YouTube Shorts URLs aren't supported by the app.
