Setting Up the Countdown Timer App
Countdown Timer is a Layout app and cannot be added to a Collection.
Adding via a Layout
Click Layouts in the left-hand menu.
Click the Layout Apps tab.
Scroll to Explore Apps for Layouts and click the Countdown Timer tile.
In the preview window that opens, click +Create to start building yours.
Configuring the app
App Settings
Setting | Description |
Name | A label for your own reference, for example "Countdown to the holidays." Viewers won't see this. |
Language | English, Spanish (Español), German (Deutsch), French (Français), or Dutch (Nederlands). |
Title | The headline shown on screen, for example "Holiday Countdown." |
Countdown Date | The Year, Month, and Day you're counting down to. All three are required. |
Countdown Time | Optional. Add an Hour and Minute if your event starts at a specific time rather than just a specific day. |
Style | Flip, an animated flip-clock display, or Minimal, a clean, simple number display. |
Date Format | Flip style only. Month/Day/Year, Day/Month/Year, or Year/Month/Day. |
Units to Show | Choose which units display on screen, such as days, or days, hours, and minutes. |
Completion Message | Required. The message that replaces the timer once it reaches zero, for example "Merry Christmas!" |
Completion Icon | An optional icon shown alongside the completion message: Thumbs Up, Balloons, Smile, Tick, or Nothing. |
Double-check your details in the App Settings panel, then click Save New App.
Showing the Countdown Timer App on a Screen
Countdown Timer is a Layout app, so it reaches a screen through the Layout it's added to.
Go to Screens and select the screen you want to update.
Open the screen's settings panel.
Adjust its Layout setting to the Layout containing your Countdown Timer app.

FAQ
I can't see the entire title I entered. Why?
To make sure the timer works well across all screen sizes, the Title field is capped at 50 characters.
How long is the Countdown Timer app shown for?
Countdown Timer is added to a Layout, so it displays for a fixed 12 seconds. See Adding Apps to Collections and Layouts for how display duration works across Collections and Layouts.
