The ScreenCloud Facebook Recommendations Feed pulls customer recommendations from your Facebook Business Page and turns them into posts on your screens, so positive word of mouth reaches your customers and staff without any extra design work.
About this Feed
Show Off Your Best Reviews
Filter for positive recommendations only, so the feedback customers see on screen is the feedback that makes the best impression.
Always Current
New recommendations left on your Facebook Page are picked up automatically and added alongside your existing content, with no manual step to bring them onto your screens.
Simple to Set Up
Connect your Facebook Business Page and choose a filter, and your screens start showing recommendations right away. Use AI Instructions to refine exactly what comes through.
Setting Up the Facebook Recommendations Feed
Adding the Feed to a Collection
In your Collection:
Click the Feeds tab, then Add New Feed.
Select Facebook Recommendations from the list of sources.
Click Add connection to sign in with a Facebook account, and approve the permission request when prompted. Once you're signed in, the connection is saved, so you can reuse it to set up additional Facebook Recommendations feeds without signing in again.
Select the Facebook Business Page you want to pull recommendations from.
Choose a recommendation filter: Positive, Negative, or All.
Optional: add an AI instruction to shape how incoming recommendations are handled.
Once everything's filled in, click Save new feed.
Each feed connects to a single Page and a single filter. If you want to show more than one filter, or recommendations from more than one Page, set up a separate feed for each combination — see Single Source Limit in Connecting Feeds to Your Screens.
Editing a Saved Feed
Once a Facebook Recommendations feed has been saved, the Page and filter selections can't be changed from the feed's edit screen. To pull from a different Page or filter, create a new feed instead. If you connect your Facebook account with access to all current and future Pages during setup, you'll be able to select any of them when creating additional feeds without reconnecting.
Adding to a Screen
For the Collection that has your Facebook Recommendations Feed, assign it to a paired screen:
Open your Collection and select the Screens tab.
Click Connect a screen, and select the paired screen you want to display it on.
It will play in the Main zone of the screen, provided the screen already has a Layout assigned.
To learn how often the Facebook Recommendations content will appear on screen, see Automated Playback and Content Rotation in Creating Collections for Your Screens. For the general steps that apply to any Feed source, see Setting Up and Connecting a Feed.
Facebook Account Requirements to Connect to ScreenCloud
Connecting requires a Facebook account with access to a Business or Brand Page; the Feed can't pull recommendations from a personal Facebook profile.
The account also needs full Page access, which can be checked and configured in the Page Access tab of the Page's settings in Facebook. If the account only has limited access, or the Page belongs to an organization that restricts third-party app connections, the Page may not appear as an option when connecting.
Since the Page selection can't be changed after a feed is saved, consider opting into access for all current and future Businesses and Pages when connecting your Facebook account, rather than a single Page, so you have flexibility to create feeds for other Pages later without reconnecting.
What Content Does the Feed Pull from Your Facebook Page?
The Feed pulls recommendations left on your selected Facebook Business Page, filtered to Positive, Negative, or All, depending on how the feed is set up.
Recommendation types
Facebook recommendations are binary: a customer either recommends or doesn't recommend your Page. Facebook removed star ratings from its recommendations feature in 2019, so no star or numeric rating is available to display.
Media
The Feed doesn't pull through photos or other media attached to a recommendation; only the recommendation text and reviewer name are displayed.
Managing What Shows on Screen
Once the Feed is connected, you have several ways to control which recommendations end up on screen, and to review or adjust them afterwards.
Filtering Incoming Posts with AI Instructions
Use AI Instructions to control what comes through from the Page before it reaches your screens. Write your own instruction or choose from the built-in templates to rewrite, filter, or translate recommendations as they arrive. For a Facebook Recommendations feed, this could mean:
"Only show recommendations that mention specific products or services."
"Summarize long recommendations into a single screen-friendly line."
"Translate incoming recommendations from English to Spanish."
You can test an instruction against your existing recommendations before saving it, to see exactly which posts it would show or hide.
Managing Posts After They've Arrived
From the Collection's Posts view, you can manage individual posts the Feed has already created:
Hide a post to temporarily remove it from rotation without deleting it.
Show a hidden post again to bring it back into rotation.
Delete a post to remove it permanently.
Since the Feed only reads recommendations from Facebook, none of these actions change or remove the original recommendation on your Facebook Page, the connection is read-only.
Finding and Previewing Feed Posts
Every post the Feed creates appears in the Collection's Posts view alongside your manual posts, where you can filter the view by Feed of origin to see only the recommendations pulled in from Facebook. Each post also has its own Preview option, so you can check exactly how it'll look on screen before it plays.
See Connecting Feeds to Your Screens and Creating Posts for Your Screens for the full set of options available on posts created from a Feed.
Changing How Your Feed Appears on Screen
Posts created by the Facebook Recommendations Feed pick up the Theme applied to the screen they play on, including its colors and text styling. See Creating a Theme for Your Screens for how to customize the look of your posts.
FAQ
Can I select more than one recommendation filter?
Not on a single feed. Each feed supports one filter (Positive, Negative, or All), so add a separate feed for each filter you want to show.
I'm getting a message that no Facebook Business Page is available to select. How do I fix this?
This usually means the account you're connecting with doesn't have a Business or Brand Page, or has limited administrative rights on the Page. Check that the account has full Page access under the Page's Page Access settings in Facebook, and that the Page hasn't restricted third-party app connections.
How far back does the Feed pull in recommendations?
The Feed pulls in all recommendations on the Page that match your selected filter, not just recent ones.
