The ScreenCloud Facebook Social Feed pulls your latest posts from a Facebook Business Page and turns them into posts on your screens, so your social updates reach customers and staff without any extra editing or design work.
About this Feed
Effortless, Set-and-Forget Publishing
Connect your Page once, and new Facebook posts are automatically picked up and turned into posts on your screens, with no ongoing work to keep them up to date.
Media That Looks Great on Screen
Facebook posts with text, images, video, links, and polls are automatically adapted to fit your screen's layout.
Drive Engagement Back to Your Page
Posts can include a QR code linking back to the original post on Facebook, so viewers can scan it to see more on their own device. Use AI Instructions to control which posts come through.
Setting Up the Facebook Social Feed
Adding the Feed to a Collection
In your Collection:
Click the Feeds tab, then Add New Feed.
Select Facebook Social Feed from the list of sources.
Click Add connection to sign in with a Facebook account, and approve the permission request when prompted. Once you're signed in, the connection is saved, so you can reuse it to set up additional Facebook Social Feeds without signing in again.
Select the Facebook Business Page you want to pull posts from.
Optional: add an AI instruction to shape how incoming posts are handled.
Once everything's filled in, click Save new feed.
Each feed connects to a single Page. If you want to show posts from more than one Page, set up a separate feed for each one — see Single Source Limit in Connecting Feeds to Your Screens.
Editing a Saved Feed
Once a Facebook Social Feed has been saved, the Page selection can't be changed from the feed's edit screen. To pull from a different Page, create a new feed instead.
Adding to a Screen
For the Collection that has your Facebook Social Feed, assign it to a paired screen:
Open your Collection and select the Screens tab.
Click Connect a screen, and select the paired screen you want to display it on.
It will play in the Main zone of the screen, provided the screen already has a Layout assigned.
To learn how often the Facebook content will appear on screen, see Automated Playback and Content Rotation in Creating Collections for Your Screens. For the general steps that apply to any Feed source, see Setting Up and Connecting a Feed.
Facebook Account Requirements to Connect to ScreenCloud
Connecting requires a Facebook account with access to a Business or Brand Page; the Feed can't pull posts from a personal Facebook profile.
The account also needs full Page access, which can be checked and configured in the Page Access tab of the Page's settings in Facebook. Make sure your personal Facebook profile has admin permissions on the Page, even if you're the one who created the Page and its Business account.
If the Page you're looking for doesn't appear in the list when connecting, it usually means you're not an admin of that Page, or you're signed in to the wrong Facebook account. Ask the Page's admin to add you as an admin, or try signing out and back in at facebook.com before reconnecting.
Since the Page selection can't be changed after a feed is saved, consider opting into access for all current and future Businesses and Pages when connecting your Facebook account, rather than a single Page, so you have flexibility to create feeds for other Pages later without reconnecting.
If your organization restricts outbound network access, your IT team may need to whitelist certain domains before the Feed can connect. See the Facebook entry in Domains & Servers to Whitelist for ScreenCloud for the specific domains required.
What Content Does the Feed Pull from Your Facebook Page?
The Feed pulls the latest posts from your selected Facebook Business Page.
Post types
Text, image, GIF, video, link, and poll posts are all supported. If a post has no text, the attached media displays on its own. If a post has more than one piece of media, such as a group of images, only the first is displayed.
Video limitations
Videos longer than 5 minutes won't play; a static thumbnail displays instead. Separately, a video can fail to play regardless of length if it was uploaded to Facebook with restricted permissions, such as embedding disabled, autoplay disabled, or an age restriction applied; Facebook blocks these videos from playing on any third-party app or service.
GIF limitations
Only GIFs posted using Facebook's GIPHY feature play as animations. GIFs uploaded any other way display as a still image; this is a limitation of Meta's API rather than something ScreenCloud can control.
Managing What Shows on Screen
Once the Feed is connected, you have several ways to control which Facebook posts end up on screen, and to review or adjust them afterwards.
Filtering Incoming Posts with AI Instructions
Use AI Instructions to control what comes through from the Page before it reaches your screens. Write your own instruction or choose from the built-in templates to rewrite, filter, or translate posts as they arrive. For a Facebook Social Feed, this could mean:
"Only show posts that mention new product launches."
"Filter out purely promotional posts, keep only company updates."
"Summarize long posts into a single screen-friendly line."
"Translate incoming posts from English to French."
You can test an instruction against your existing Facebook posts before saving it, to see exactly which posts it would show or hide.
Managing Posts After They've Arrived
From the Collection's Posts view, you can manage individual posts the Feed has already created:
Hide a post to temporarily remove it from rotation without deleting it.
Show a hidden post again to bring it back into rotation.
Delete a post to remove it permanently.
Since the Feed only reads posts from Facebook, none of these actions change or remove the original post on your Facebook Page, the connection is read-only.
Finding and Previewing Feed Posts
Every post the Feed creates appears in the Collection's Posts view alongside your manual posts, where you can filter the view by Feed of origin to see only the posts pulled in from Facebook. Each post also has its own Preview option, so you can check exactly how it'll look on screen before it plays.
See Connecting Feeds to Your Screens and Creating Posts for Your Screens for the full set of options available on posts created from a Feed.
Changing How Your Feed Appears on Screen
Posts created by the Facebook Social Feed pick up the Theme applied to the screen they play on, including its colors and text styling. See Creating a Theme for Your Screens for how to customize the look of your posts.
