The ScreenCloud Unily Feed pulls news posts from your Unily intranet and turns them into posts on your screens, so company announcements and updates reach frontline and deskless employees without any extra design work.

Setting Up the Unily Feed
Adding the Feed to a Collection
In your Collection:
Click the Feeds tab, then Add New Feed.
Select Unily from the list of sources.
Review the Unily feed overview, then click + Connect feed.
Under Connection, click Add connection to connect a Unily account (see Unily Account Requirements below). Once a connection is saved, you can reuse it to set up additional Unily feeds without reconnecting.
Under Select a Filter, click Select Filter to choose the audience or topic you want the feed to pull from.
Optional: add an AI instruction to shape how incoming posts are handled.
Once everything's filled in, click Save new feed.
Adding to a Screen
For the Collection that has your Unily Feed, assign it to a paired screen:
Open your Collection and select the Screens tab.
Click Connect a screen, and select the paired screen you want to display it on.
It will play in the Main zone of the screen, provided the screen already has a Layout assigned.
To learn how often the Unily content will appear on screen, see Automated Playback and Content Rotation in Creating Collections for Your Screens. For the general steps that apply to any Feed source, see Setting Up and Connecting a Feed.
Unily Account Requirements to Connect to ScreenCloud
Unlike some Feed sources that connect with a simple account login, connecting Unily requires you to gather a set of credentials from your Unily account first. In the Connect a Unily account window, you'll need to provide:
Unily API URL
Client ID
Client Secret
Name, a label for this connection (for example "Primary Connection"), useful if you'll be creating more than one
Getting these details from Unily
Your Unily API URL, Client ID, and Client Secret come from your organization's Unily account. Reach out to Unily's team to have these issued if you don't already have them.
The connection also needs access to two specific Unily API scopes: gateway.graphql and gateway.languages. If your existing Unily API credentials don't already include these, you or your Unily admin can request them via Unily's API Request Form; ask Customer Support to "modify existing Unily API client credential" to add the new scopes.
To find your exact API URL, log in to your Unily intranet and go to [your-company-name]/api/docs/rest; the URL is displayed at the top of that page.
What Content Does the Feed Pull from Your Unily Account?
The Unily Feed only pulls News content from your Unily intranet; other Unily content types aren't supported.
Filtering by Topic and Audience
On your Unily platform, each news post is tagged with one or more Topics and Audiences. When setting up the Feed, you select the Topic(s) and/or Audience(s) to pull from; you can select more than one of each.
Separately, Unily posts are also created with a source language and, optionally, one or more target languages. A post only appears translated on screen if it was tagged with a matching target language in Unily; otherwise it displays in its original source language.
Content and formatting limits
No video support. The Feed can't display video; if you want motion in a post, upload a GIF in Unily instead.
One image per post. Only a single image is used, even if the source post in Unily has more.
Fields pulled through: Title, Description, Author, and the post's image. Other fields on the Unily news post aren't used.
Preparing News Posts in Unily for Digital Signage
Since the Feed only pulls News content, and only a limited set of fields from each post, it's worth keeping a few things in mind when your team creates a Unily news post that's meant to appear on screen:
Tag it with the right Topic or Audience. The Feed only picks up posts tagged with the Topic(s) or Audience(s) you selected when setting up the Feed; untagged or differently-tagged posts won't come through.
Tag translations if you use them. A post only displays translated on screen if it was given a matching target language in Unily; otherwise it shows in its original source language.
Use one strong image. Since only one image comes through per post, lead with your best one; video and GIFs uploaded as the post's main image won't display.
Keep the title and description tight. Only the Title, Description, Author, and image are pulled through, so anything else in the post body won't reach the screen.
Managing What Shows on Screen
Once the Feed is connected, you have several ways to control which Unily posts end up on screen, and to review or adjust them afterwards.
Filtering Incoming Posts with AI Instructions
Use AI Instructions to control what comes through from the selected audience or topic before it reaches your screens. Write your own instruction or choose from the built-in templates to rewrite, filter, or translate posts as they arrive. For a Unily feed, this could mean:
"Only show posts related to company-wide announcements."
"Filter out routine updates, keep only leadership communications."
"Summarize long news posts into a single screen-friendly line."
You can test an instruction against your existing Unily posts before saving it, to see exactly which posts it would show or hide.
Managing Posts After They've Arrived
From the Collection's Posts view, you can manage individual posts the Feed has already created:
Hide a post to temporarily remove it from rotation without deleting it.
Show a hidden post again to bring it back into rotation.
Delete a post to remove it permanently.
Since the Feed only reads posts from Unily, none of these actions change or remove the original post in Unily, the connection is read-only.
Finding and Previewing Feed Posts
Every post the Feed creates appears in the Collection's Posts view alongside your manual posts, where you can filter the view by Feed of origin to see only the posts pulled in from Unily. Each post also has its own Preview option, so you can check exactly how it'll look on screen before it plays.
See Connecting Feeds to Your Screens and Creating Posts for Your Screens for the full set of options available on posts created from a Feed.
Changing How Your Feed Appears on Screen
Posts created by the Unily Feed pick up the Theme applied to the screen they play on, including its light or dark mode. See Creating a Theme for Your Screens for how to customize the look of your posts.
FAQ
Can I connect more than one Unily account or audience/topic?
Yes. Each connection you save, via the Name field when connecting, can be reused to set up additional Unily feeds pulling from different audiences or topics, without having to re-enter your API credentials each time.
Is the Feed able to display news posts containing a video?
No. Video isn't supported; upload a GIF in Unily instead if you want motion in the post.
Why isn't my Unily news post showing in the language I expected?
This happens when the post wasn't tagged with a matching target language in Unily. Without that tag, the post displays in its original source language instead of a translation.
